THE PANIC CHANNEL Guitarist DAVE NAVARRO Is In 'Rad-Bass-Player Heaven'
January 6, 2007THE PANIC CHANNEL/CAMP FREDDY guitarist Dave Navarro (ex-JANE'S ADDICTION, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS) has issued the following update:
"Billy [Morrison, CAMP FREDDY guitarist] and I will be back in the studio on Saturday night [Jan. 6] for another installment of Camp Freddy Radio [weekly show hosted by members of CAMP FREDDY] on Indie 103.1 FM from 6pm-8pm PST. With any luck, we should have a special guest, Alektra Blue, in tonight to discuss her nomination at the upcoming AVN [Adult Video News] awards in Las Vegas. I am a presenter this year at the show and I am also throwing a big pre-awards party at Scores the night before.
"Work, work, work...
"Sadly, tonight will be my last Camp Freddy Radio for a while as THE PANIC CHANNEL is going on tour for a couple of months, but as usual, we plan to do some THE PANIC CHANNEL podcasts from the bus. Speaking of THE PANIC CHANNEL, thank you for all of your thoughts on the set list [for our tour] with [ROCK STAR] SUPERNOVA. As it stands, we are toying around with the following [songs]:
Left To Lose
Teahouse
Go On
Said You'd Be
Blue Bruises
She Won't Last
Outsider/Why Cry/Bloody Mary
Night One
Awake
"Of course we will be doing some other stuff at our club shows, but it's looking like there are only three of those scattered around. We will definitely be breaking out 'Listen' and a cover or two for those shows.
"Our new bass player, Siggy [Sjursen of POWERMAN 5000], has stepped in and is rocking our songs with an energy and enthusiasm that is really making it all feel new again.
"As I have said before, I will miss Chris Chaney [regular THE PANIC CHANNEL bassist], but if anyone is gonna fill in for him, it MUST be Siggy! Plus, I get to rock with Chris at every CAMP FREDDY show so I am pretty much in 'rad-bass-player heaven.'"
THE PANIC CHANNEL's trek with ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA is scheduled to kick off January 16 in Hollywood, Florida.
THE PANIC CHANNEL is the new band featuring three quarters of the most recent lineup of JANE'S ADDICTION (Navarro, Chaney and drummer Stephen Perkins) and former SKYCYCLE vocalist Steve Isaacs. The group's debut album, "(ONe)", sold more than 8,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 108 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was produced by Josh Abraham, whose resume includes such multi-platinum artists as KORN, COURTNEY LOVE, LIMP BIZKIT and VELVET REVOLVER, among others. Mixing duties were handled by Ryan Williams, who has previously worked with veteran producer Brendan O'Brien.
